After 30 years, it is time to retire. This long establish business is for sale. Both the store and a four-bedroom house are included in the sale. The business, which includes the store, house, and property, are located on a half acre on a major US Highway outside the city limits of Franklin, NC. The business is on the corner of US Highway 441 North and Sanderstown Rd., which is the entry-way to Cowee Valley where the Ruby Mines are located.

The store has approximately 1,200 sq. ft. of display space with a basement workshop of another approximately 300 sq. ft. The store and the house are conjoined with entry from one to the other. The house has four bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast/lunch room, dining room, living room, laundry room and furnace room. There is approximately 3,000 sq. ft. in the house.

Included in the sale is the entire large inventory of jewelry, mineral specimens, fossils, unmounted gemstones, faceting and cabbing rough, faceting and cabbing machines, showcases, shelving, jewelry making tools, machinery, gold and silver mountings, etc. The inventory is huge. The majority of the jewelry is of gold. The mineral specimens are numerous and are of high quality. The fossils are likewise numerous and also of very high quality. The faceting and cabbing rough selection is one of the largest in the US. There are tons of cabbing rough outside the store and inside, the shelves are full of faceting rough.

The earnings potential of the business is only limited by how much time and effort you are willing to put into it. I have been in business all these years in Franklin, operating the store from April through October, five days a week. I have taken a five month vacation each of those years. It is possible to be open during the Winter here, as I have tried it on various occasions; however, I much preferred the time off during the Winter. I have not fully explored Internet Sales, Auctions and mail order. More and more, these are other venues for the sale of gems, minerals, fossils and jewelry. The custom jewelry market here is untapped.

It is a great business. The store is located on US Hwy. 441N, just three miles north of Franklin. The city of Franklin is 50 miles Southwest of Asheville, NC.
